Were you affected by faulty PIP implants within the past three years? The breast implant scandal involving French manufacturers Poly Implant Prothese has received considerable press attention during the past two year, yet many women are still unaware they may be entitled to compensation for the suffering caused by product complications.

Our product liability solicitors have already assisted many thousands of women affected by faulty silicone breast implants, and have a strong track record of success in recovering maximum compensation on behalf of clients. We could help if:

  • You suffered infection or inflammation due to leaking silicone.
  • You needed medical attention due to implant rupture.
  • You were fitted with faulty implants produced by the French manufacturer.
  • You suffered a reaction, or toxic poisoning caused by leaking silicone gel.
  • You needed further surgery to remove/ replace faulty implants.
  • You were fitted with PIP implants at a clinic, after the product recall (medical negligence).
  • You suffered any other form of physical injury or psychological trauma.

PIP Implants CompensationProduct liability claims differ somewhat to those made for medical negligence, because the onus of responsibility is on the manufacturer to ensure that products are suitable for their intended purpose. In the case of Poly Implant Prothese, the implants produced were found to contain a potentially toxic silicone gel that was not deemed safe under EU regulations. Following an unprecedented number of complaints from women who had suffered complications after having the implants fitted, the company was forced to legally cease production, and all products were immediately recalled.

If you think you may have been fitted with PIP implants, and have not yet sought legal advice concerning your right to claim, we strongly recommended consulting with one of our medical negligence solicitors to ascertain entitlement. Simply complete the secure application form online and one of our solicitors will call you back at a convenient time to discuss your options.

Reported Issues With PIP Breast Implants

Prior to 2010, French manufacturer Poly Implant Prothese were a leading supplier of silicone, gel-filled implants to the European market, however, following a surge in complaints about leakage and ruptures, theĀ  French regulatory agency AFFSAPS ordered an immediate investigation. The investigation found that the gel used in the manufacture of PIP implants was not an approved substance, and production at the facility was immediately halted. It soon transpired that the gel used to fill PIP implants was both toxic and corrosive, making implants more likely to develop a leak, or rupture completely once fitted in the chest cavity. Reported injuries have included:

  • Soreness, tenderness and bruising
  • Inflammation of the breast tissue
  • Blood poisoning
  • Lumps and siliconomas
  • Swelling or blockage of lymph glands
  • Excessive cosmetic scarring due to the need for further surgery.

No Win No Fee PIP Implant Claims Experts

Despite widespread media coverage, claiming for faulty PIP implants is not a straightforward process. The company itself is no longer in existence, meaning that all claims are now handled by an intermediary acting on behalf of suppliers to the UK. Relatively few solicitor firms have the necessary experience to fight cases of this nature, which is why it’s important to seek advice from solicitors with an established reputation.

We haveĀ  medical negligence solicitors whom specialise in claims involving faulty implants and prosthetics, who also offer their services on a no win no fee basis. This means, if you do decide to go ahead with your case, you can feel confident that there are no hidden fees payable at any stage during the litigation process. Since we also recover our own costs directly from the opposition. Also check out the latest NHS PIP breast implants news.
